Posture practice
Sedentary work?
Sitting for long periods can have a negative effect on the thoracic and lumbar curvatures of your spine and reduce core strength. Sedentary lifestyles weaken the muscles involved in posture. This session targets the upper and lower back as well as your core.
Want to improve your posture?
This session focuses on strengthening the muscles that improve your posture while also mobilizing the joints involved. It includes bodyweight exercises and uses equipment such as light dumbbells, resistance bands, and yoga blocks. All equipment and mats are provided, but feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer.
Finish the week with good posture!

Balance and rise
How good are you at standing on one leg? The 1-legged stance test is used to predict falling in adults. Being able to stand on one leg not only reduces risk of falls, but also the risk of fracture and mortality. It is important to master this skill at all stages of life as it can significantly improve your quality of life in the future. Did you know that 1 in 5 adults aged 51-75 are unable to stand on one foot longer than 10 seconds? Let’s improve those odds!
Many housebound individuals struggle to get up from a chair, due to reduced mobility of the joints and reduced muscle strength. Not only does this class focus on balance, but also targets the muscles that help you rise. Maintaining good muscle strength and joint mobility will keep you independent for longer.
This class consists of bodyweight exercises and light dumbbells.
